A Full Wedding Floral Package in Alresford
The challenge
The couple came to us eight months before their wedding at a converted barn outside Alresford with a clear vision, a wild, romantic look using only seasonal British flowers, but no idea how to translate that across five separate spaces: the ceremony barn, the cocktail garden, the reception hall, six long dining tables, and a bridal party of eleven.
Their budget needed to stretch across bridal flowers, buttonholes, ceremony installations, and table arrangements without compromising on quality. They'd had quotes from two other Hampshire florists that came back either too rigid or too expensive.
Our approach
We scheduled a consultation at the barn itself, walking each space and photographing the light, the ceiling heights, and the existing timber features. From there we built a flower plan around what would be in peak season in late June, garden roses, lisianthus, sweet peas, and larkspur, sourcing the majority from two Hampshire growers we've worked with for years.
To make hanging installations viable within budget, we combined fresh flowers with dried pampas grass and preserved eucalyptus, which hold beautifully without needing water. We delivered and installed everything ourselves across the two days before the wedding, dressing the barn from the beam downwards.
The result
The final scheme covered a bridal bouquet, eleven bridesmaid posies, ten buttonholes, four hanging installations across the ceremony barn, two statement urns at the entrance, and centrepieces for six dining tables, all completed and in place by 10am on the morning of the wedding.
The couple have since recommended Bloom & Petal to three friends planning Hampshire weddings, and we were asked back to provide monthly subscription flowers for their new home in Winchester.
