Our Story
Rooted in Winchester, Grown by Hand
Bloom & Petal Florists has been part of Winchester's daily life for over a decade. We started with a modest flower stall and a van full of British-grown stems, and we've grown into a full floristry studio trusted by families, couples, and event planners across Winchester, Alresford, and Romsey. Every arrangement we make is built by hand, no factory bunches, no pre-made templates.
We work closely with seasonal and locally sourced flowers wherever possible, which means what you order in May looks and smells completely different from what we'd make you in October. That's intentional. Flowers should reflect the season they grow in, and we think that honesty makes every bouquet more meaningful, whether it's a wedding centrepiece for 120 guests or a simple bunch to say thank you.

Our story
How We Got Here

First Market Stall, Winchester High Street
Bloom & Petal began as a weekend stall selling hand-tied seasonal bouquets on Winchester High Street. Word spread faster than we expected, and within three months we had a waiting list for Christmas wreaths.

First Permanent Studio in Winchester
Growing demand pushed us to open our first proper studio space in Winchester city centre, a small shopfront with a cold room, a workbench, and just enough room for two florists. Our Flower Subscription service launched the same year.

First Weddings Season
We took on our first full wedding season, twelve couples across Hampshire, and knew immediately that Wedding Flowers would become a cornerstone of what we do. Every bride and groom got a dedicated consultation and a bespoke design.

Expanding into Alresford and Romsey
Deliveries grew beyond Winchester as customers in Alresford and Romsey began placing regular orders. We extended our delivery routes and began serving local events and funeral directors across the wider area.

Event Styling Service Launched
After years of dressing wedding venues, we formally launched our Event Styling service to cover corporate dinners, private parties, and seasonal installations. Our largest installation to date dressed a marquee for over 200 guests.

Over 1,800 Arrangements This Year Alone
Bloom & Petal now completes more than 1,800 individual arrangements each year, from single sympathy posies to full venue installs, still made by hand, still rooted in what's growing this season.

Rosie Holt
Senior Florist - Events & Weddings
Rosie specialises in large-scale event styling and wedding flowers, with a particular eye for trailing and organic arrangements. She has dressed venues across Winchester, Romsey, and the Test Valley.
Clara Finch
Florist - Subscriptions & Tributes
Clara manages our weekly Flower Subscription customers and leads the design of Funeral Tributes, bringing sensitivity and craft to arrangements made during difficult times.
Tom Avery
Delivery & Studio Support
Tom keeps deliveries running across Winchester, Alresford, and Romsey, often the friendly face at your door with a fresh arrangement. He also manages stock and seasonal sourcing from our Hampshire suppliers.
